What are the chances I have Hiv?

I just read that you can have Hiv for 10 years without any symptoms. It is rare but it does happen to 20% or so of infected people. I do not have any symptoms, I have only been with my husband for the past 6 years, however, I have had other sexual partners in the past, some encounters were unprotected but I was in committed relationships at the time. My most recent encounter would have been 7-8 years ago. My husband has no symptoms. We are going to get tested next week, He thinks I am being crazy and paranoid. I also gained about 50 pounds. It has taken me a year and a half to lose 30 of them. So my weight loss is very slow. I am hardly ever sick. We are getting tested, however, I want to know if I have anything to worry about. Is my husband right,am I paranoid?

Yes, a little bit paranoid is this. Your husband is right, but for gods sake you can do the test and only to find out that it is negative. It could bring you more difficulties that success when you had done this, but now it's too late anyways. The test will show negative, so you can sleep well than and loose the rest of the 50 pounds..
