Hi Melissa. I don't find your question offensive at all, but it is a little concerning. I think it's important to understand that people with anorexia actually don't have the control that you think they do - yes, they control what they put into their mouths, but it's generally at least partly related to feeling as though that is one of very few things in their lives they can control. People with anorexia often feel as though they have an enormous lack of control in their lives, so they start restricting what food they eat as this is something they can control... But eventually, not having food begins to control them, not the other way around. Anorexia is the most lethal of all mental health problems, and it's truly not something to wish for.It sounds as though perhaps what you really want is the sense of control that you feel people with anorexia have in their lives. It can be hard to realize that actually, many people do not have the control they wish they did. Perhaps this is something to talk about to your counsellor or mental health worker.
