How do I know if I'm gaining muscle or just not losing weight?

I weighed myself today and I haven't lost a single pound since a week ago and normally I would have. I've been doing about 100 squats a day, walking a few miles 3 times a week and been doing cardio so am I gaining muscle?

You should be able to tell by how your clothes fit. They should be looser since muscle is more compact than fat. It also could be that you haven't lost any weight because your body got used to the routine, it might be time to step it up a notch. You won't build any new muscle mass once your muscles get used to it either, you will just maintain what you have, that is why you always have to keep increasing what ever it is you do.
