Measuring food to proportion size?

I'm doing this weight loss challenge my job is having and I would like to lose 30lbs-40lbs in 4 months. I gained a lot of weight in this past year; mostly due to stress, and depression. I figured it would be a good idea to measure my food to the exact proportion size it says on the package..how long will it take my body to get used to it?

It's Portion. It should only take a week tops... find "free" foods to fill up on such as carrots, celery, apples, etc... That don't add a huge amount of calories and zero fat.
