Is my diet and exercise routine effective?

Hey everyone. I don't need to lose too much weight but I'm mainly doing this to get in shape and healthy again. So what I'm doing is I cut out soda, fast foods and junk from my diet. Everyday I am doing squats, leg lifts, crunches, sit ups and planks. I want to add I'm jump roping every night for about 5 minutes also. Does this sound like it will help me tone up and lose a few pounds? If so how long will it take for others to notice a difference? I am gradually going up in how many sit ups , squats, leg lifts, planks and crunches I do a day. I also take a half hour walk each morning pushing my 1 year old in the carriage
