Questions about getting a breast lift?

When I'm 18 I plan on getting a breast lift. Due to being extremely overweight and losing weight in a fast amount of time has left me with sagging breast and lose skin. It's very unattractive. I've already made up my mind about going through with this. Here are my questions -How much does the surgery cost? Are the scars noticeable even after fading? How long does it take the scars to fade? What are some side affects after surgery?I'm not worried about breast feeding since I'm unable to have kids anyway...

I have to disagree with another answerer about the cost. Although many women choose to also get implants when they have a breast lift, not all do. Some women also have breast lifts in conjuction with breast reduction surgery. According to ReaSelf, which is an online forum pretty much dedicated to cosmetic procedures, based on a little over 500 submissions, the average cost is just under $8,000, though it will likely vary by surgeon, location, and whether or not you also get implants. With regard to scars, it depends on several factors. Some people scar more easily than others. Additionally, there are several different scar techniques that surgeons use, and which is selected may be dependent on your anatomy and skin quality, as well as whether or not you will be having implants, a reduction, or neither. This doctor also uses the SPAIR technique, which is a short scar method. Whether or not you would be a candidate would probably depend on the factors listed above. If you check out RealSelf, you can see before and after pictures of women who have had the procedure and share their experiences. Every surgeon is different, and so results may vary depending on the surgeon and the individual. You might also want to check out the ASPS (American Society of Plastic Surgery) website for more information on the procedure.I hope this helps!

  • a breast lift costs the same as getting implants because that's what you're doing, you're getting implants.prices vary by locale & the expertise of your doctor. you could be looking at as little as $2500 or as much as $16000.the scars are on the outside of your breast (the part closest to your arm) & you'll have scars around your areola because they will also have to move your nipples.it takes years for the scars to fade. you have to massage the scars & apply a scar fading ointment like bio oil, vitamin e, or mederma to the scars. the ointment will keep the scars soft & & help fade the scars quicker. the massaging helps the scar tissue remain small so it doesn't build up thick lumps along the incision. again the skilly of your surgeon is important in how noticeable the scars are. if you are a tanner then you are not allowed to tan the first 12 to 18 months after the surgery because UV exposure is not good for scar tissue & it will just make your scars more noticeable. after you heal, it will take about 6 to 8 months for your scars to fade from the surgery but they will still be noticeable to you because you know where to look & it will be a couple of years before the scars fade to the point that YOU don't notice them any more. side effects after the surgery: infection. the implant can break & leak out its contents (due to this risk, I recommend saline instead of silicone. the saline will just be harmlessly reabsorbed into your body but the silicone will just sit there & it could cause medical problems down the road.)and I know you said you didn't care but the lift won't affect your ability to breast feed. they will be removing skin not breast tissue.
