What foods are good for losing weight?

I have to lose 4 stone to get to my ideal weight. So what are the foods I can eat that will basically keep me going, stop me feeling hungry, but make the weight loss actually happen? And hopefully won't be too boring into the bargain, since this will have to be a long term change to my diet.Here's what I think are good. Lettuce, tomatoes, cucumber, celery, beansprouts, raw mushrooms, Here's some I think are OK, but won't be as fast as the first list:Chicken, pilchards, low fat yogurt, low fat salad cream, apples, pears, bananas, corn on the cob, Weetabix, bran flakes, semi skimmed milk, I have a pretty good idea what's fattening & bad for me, so please don't tell me what to avoid, please tell me what you suggest to eat instead of the bad stuff. I'm very new to all this, so please tell me stuff that may be obvious if it isn't on my lists above.Thankyou very much.
