How to Use Couch-to-5K to Lose Weight

I'm about to post an article in which I show the results of a study regarding yo-yo diets: the more “poor" and restricted is your diet, the more you risk to gain weight again. This is scientifc evidence: a healthy lifestyle (like yours) is the key to control your weight; there are no fast solutions, no shortcuts. Increasing fruit and vegetabkes is a good choice, but remember your body needs also "good" fats and proteins. Be patient, be motivated, know and respect your body's rhythm. The article will be posted Tuesday if you want to check it (http://rulethediet.blogspot.com/ )

  • I believe that only fruit and veggies would not be a healthy diet because meats and other foods provide your body with the things it needs. So as you may lose weight I don't think it would be productive.
  • Don't do that. You might lose some weight, but it would be impossible to maintain as soon as you start eating more you will gain it all back and possibly more. Not to mention the fact that you won't be getting all the nutrients, carbs, fats, calories and other good stuff that you need to, you know, live.
  • An all fruit diet is not healthy.

Would you be likely to gain more weight from cutting down on all sweets?

I've heard and experienced starvation mode. You starve yourself for a day, hoping to lose weight. The next day, you regain the weight plus more, because your body can't take it any more. Anyway, I'm not fat. I just feel I can lose a pound or two in my stomach. It's not noticeable. Just because people can't see it, I can still feel it and I want to feel good, not bad.So back to starvation mode. I tried it and got poor results. After a lot of attempts of different methods, I realized I can't go under 1000 calories a day otherwise I'll just end up eating a lot.A few years back, I used to be extremely chubby. I quit drinking anything except for water and I lost weight. I mean a ton of weight. I went from chubby to being on the LIGHT side.I'm happy with my legs, but not so much my stomach. I thought If I cut down on sweets, I would lose weight. But would that have the same effects as starvation mode? Would I just gain more weight back? Also, how much weight can I lose from cutting down on sweets in 1 month? Thanks!By sweets, I mean snacks. After dinner, I always have a snack. I also have snacks with my lunch and sometimes in between meals.

How to Lose Weight If You Are in a Wheelchair

No, of course not. You don't need sweets at all. Here's a good low-carb food/exercise plan:Breakfast: Cook 9-grain cereal (from health food store) in water with rolled oats and wheat bran. Make a pot of it on weekends and nuke 1/2 cup each morning. Then stir in low fat milk or yogurt, banana, walnuts and berries. Drink hot Ovaltine. Breakfast should be your largest meal of the day to raise blood sugar level which falls during the night.Lunch: Egg, tuna or turkey ½ sandwich on multi-grain (not just whole wheat) bread with bean or alfalfa sprouts, yogurt, fresh fruit. If you had meat loaf for dinner, bring a meat loaf sandwich on whole grain bread (NO mayo). On cold days, a squatty thermos of hot chili, split peas with ham, or beef stew.Snacks: Fresh (not canned) fruit. Nothing ever from a vending machine. Fruit smoothies. Dinner: salad with white meat chicken and fresh (not canned) veggies: tomatoes, 2 kinds of lettuce, 2 kinds of shredded cabbage, shredded or sliced carrots, alfalfa or bean sprouts, zucchini, green or red peppers, hard boiled eggs, brussels sprouts, broccoli, cauliflower, tofu, cottage cheese, spinach...Instead of dressing, squeeze 1/4 tomato over it. Or homemade bean/vegetable soups; great way to recycle leftovers.Or grilled fish with steamed veggies.Or omelet: In blender, whip together eggs, tofu, cottage cheese, onions, garlic powder. Cook with mushrooms, chopped tomatoes and green or red peppers. Avoid junk food, fast foods, pastries, desserts, anything with sugar (cancer cells feed on sugar), gluten, syrup (even canned fruit in syrup), peanut butter, fat/grease (pork, wieners, chops, bacon, salami, pizza, chips, fries), pasta, potatoes, ramen, popcorn, white bread, rice, canned veggies, ice cream (it's lard + chemicals), soda (loaded with toxins), chips, tobacco, alcohol (kills brain cells) and coffee (carcinogenic). No oil except olive and mac nut. To keep your skin clear, drink water, tea, unsweetened veggie and fruit juice.Join a gym; they have all the equipment and staff to show you how to use it to get the look you want to achieve, but you have to ask them. Much cheaper than buying your own equipment. Go hiking, biking, jogging, bowling, swimming, rowing, jump rope, play tennis, badminton, volleyball, soccer, jumping jacks, lift weights, trampoline? To tone your tummy, do sit ups, push ups, pull ups, leg lifts, butt raises and crunches. For more energy, take Super B complex.

  • Well it depends.. You do mean sweets as in snacks right? Like candy? Like how much do you eat a day? Sweets would have to be a big part of your life to actually make a difference in your weight like if you eat 5 cakes a day then yeah you're gonna lose weight cutting them out, if you only eat like one piece of candy a day, no not really. You're probably not gonna lose weight.Edit: So ill just say the snacks are like bags of chips, and about 3 a day and that's about 600 calories you're cutting out or so, so yes it will make a difference, but probably not a lot. It's more for heavy weighted people to drop pounds from cutting food out but you sound like you already lost a lot of weight and are skinny so maybe a couple pounds honestly like 2-3 overall.
