How to Break a Weight Loss Plateau

Recommended Answer:

To gain weight you need to combine protein foods with starchy carbohydrates as indicated below. Good weight gaining combinations are bread, cereals, pasta, rice, potatoes or sweet potatoes combined with meat, poultry, eggs, cheese, nuts or sea food. Peanut butter sandwiches and cheese sandwiches are good weight gaining combinations. The protein in the above combinations will help to gain extra muscles.

Other Answers:

  • People think they eat "aloooot" but, just put everything into calories. If you want to gain weight, try eating at least 2500 calories a day. 1 calorie = 4.2 kJ.
  • Start eating alot of junk, until you're at the weight of being able to be a body-builder. Trust me. It seems like the only way for people with a fast metabolism to gain weight.

How can I gain weight and not look different?

I'm 15, 5'4.5", and I currently weigh about 140 lbs. Last summer I was 5'3.5" 120-ish, and during the last half of the 2012-2013 school year, I gained 18 lbs. I'm reasonably sure it's because of lack of sleep, and after cross country season, lack of exercise. I also have hyperactive adrenal glands, so my cortisol probably skyrocketed from the lack of sleep. For a few months each year, I do cross country, and then I get relatively small (36A-29-35). I don't gain weight in the winter for some odd reason, even though I practically lived on homemade baked goods last year. It wasn't until spring that I gained this weight. Now I'm (36B-30-38). What I really don't understand is how I've gained 18 lbs. without anyone noticing (and I've only grown one inch taller, so that's not it). Seriously, nobody thinks I've gained weight! I've asked my friends if I look bigger, and they look me up and down and all they notice is that my hips are wider. They still call me things like Bony-Butt, Twig-Legs. I'm not even skinny! At first I attributed it to muscle-atrophy, but if that was the reason, wouldn't I have lost weight? I'm really confused, please help.Oh, and if you've successfully lost 10-20 lbs. and maintained your new weight, would you please tell me how you did it?Thanks a lot!Sorry if that was confusing. Let me clarify: I gained 18 pounds in less than 4 months this year. Nobody thinks I look bigger, and measurements-wise, I'm not much bigger. How is it possible to gain so much and not look significantly bigger? And how do I lose the weight? I lost 5 lbs. of it recently, but it came right back (this is strange for me; I lose weight easily). Thanks again!

How to Lose Weight while Pregnant

Howdy, It certainly sounds like it could be attributed to muscle gain. A pound of muscle takes up significantly less space than a pound of fat. The best thing to do is ignore the scale, (except around once a month) take a tape measure, and see what measurements change throughout the year. Also, you may not look different to anyone because they see you often and don't notice little changes. Also, the more we are around people, the less we notice their physical appearance. Any photos that you can reflect on? The camera doesn't lie!I lost 65 pounds in two years and I've managed to maintain by eating healthy and drinking water most of the time, and eating junk and drinking junk only some of the time. Also, I love weight-training and speed walking (3 times a week, 40 minutes). G'luck and I hope you find what works for you. PS: Ignore those haters! Calling someone names is never cool, especially when it comes from friends and loved ones.

  • Wait. You wanna gain weight? There are fat girls weeping right now. If people are saying your too skinny then they're probably jealous (lol) but seriously, being bigger isn't exactly good for health.Sorry if I misunderstood your question but that's pretty much what I understood

How to Lose Weight Quickly

the biggest things that help are 1) cutting down portions down. There's nothing wrong with eating things that aren't super healthy but limit yourself! Instead of having that double cheeseburger with a side of fries and a coke, fry half the burger without a bun, a couple of fries and water instead. You'd be surprised how much this helps. Secondly, exchanged sugared beverages for unsweetened things. instead of sweet tea or soda or juice, try water or unsweetened herbal teas. A fun way to get tons of exercise is play Just Dance. on Just Dance 4 there's a thing called "just sweat" and it counts your calories and stuff, it's super awesome! so maybe try that? or jogging will help burn cals as well. :) If you struggle with always feeling hungry try boiling a bunch of veggies in a pot of water (broccoli, peppers, cabbage, onions, etc. it doesn't have to be stuff you like) once they've all boiled for about 5 minutes, turn the burned to low for about 10 minutes, the you can either throw away the veggies or eat them, but the broth left over works miracles! If you still feel hungry after a meal drink some warm vegetable broth and it suppresses appetite and really doesn't taste too bad. so if you do a giant pot of vegetables then drain the broth and keep it refrigerated until you need it, it could definitely come in handy. Lastly, try your best to cut out desserts and sweets and if you do have something have a tiny bit.sorry that was a super run on. good luck! :)

Other Answers:

  • Do lots of exercise (I'd suggest running,) and eat mainly fruits, vegetables, and protein, with little bits of everything else. Be patient. You can't rush weight loss.
