How long does it take improve flexibility in my thighs?

I seriously wanna become more flexible in my thighs. I'm 15 ,guy,about 5'4 and my fat to muscle ratio in my thighs end up with more fat, so I sorta have bigger thighs for my age, no I'm not fat I'm muscular/lean in my upper body. Anyway I want to do center splits which is my goal, and whenever I get out of the shower I attempt and go as far, to the point where there is tension and hold it there for a minute, I have to lean forwards on my forearm / elbows because of the tension. I do this about 3-4 times a week rlly. I heard. Flexibility takes time but I need to kno how long , m that patient as I used to be and also can I pull something with me having bigger thighs, while stretching. Do I need to lose weight, if so tell me and give me ideas. . I rlly need help and I would seriously appreciate it if u did. Thnk u and I'm serious, this is my first step to life of better performance

I also wanted to do the same , I'm also 15, girl, but I wanted to do the splits the other way, so I went on youtube and looked it up there and it said that you should do different types of stretches like lunges and squats and what you can also do is if you stand with your knees on the floor and you put your one leg straight infront of you but lift it as high as you can go (by putting it on a short table or books etc.) You also get really flexible by doing that , and also just stretch your groind
