Keeping a healthy diet while recovering from mouth surgery?

Hi there,In about 3 weeks I will be having bone transplant surgery in the upper part of my mouth. The doctor told me that healing will take 10 weeks or more. I will most likely be unable to chew food for a couple of weeks, then moving on to softer foods to chew on. I would like to take this opportunity to lose weight and get my body and health back on track. Will I be able to safely lose weight by eating home made vegetable soups and purees and by eating soft fruits, etc.? I've heard that you can make yourself anemic this way, so should I also try to puree some meat each week? Thanks for the help

How to Lose Weight Drinking Water

Recommended Answer:

Fat loss occurs when you consume fewer calories than you burn...whether you are chewing or drinking your meals...Just make sure you are consuming the proper nutrition while you are healing...you still want lean protein, fruits and veggies, complex carbs, healthy fats, and lots of water...you may be drinking a lot of smoothies initially, but those elements still need to be part of your daily diet...You don't have to puree all your food (such as meat) unless you just want to...an alternative would be a healthy protein shake that you could drink, until you're ready to chew meat again...
