How to lose weight effectively - long term?

I'm 5ft2 and weigh around 10 stone. I'm a size 10-12 in clothing but because of my height I don't carry it very well. I'm looking to lose body fat all over, can anyone suggest effective & HEALTHY diets plus exercise regimes that really do work? I'm not looking for anything that happens too fast, no crash diets etc because I want to do this properly and healthily but I definitely want results. Any personal experiences that you can share with me would be great. Thank you in advance :) X

How to Lose Weight Without Exercising

I'm done with my weight loss journey and completely happy with how I feel and how I look right now however losing weight is a challenge for anyone and even losing 5 pounds and keeping it off isn't an easy task. Also I bet you didn't know that 5 pounds of fat is about the size of 8 cheese burgers? That alone should be enough to make anyone want to get on the ball and start a change for the better. Weight loss can be really easy to learn but the problem is nobody wants to put the required effort that is needed to actually do it, instead people continually look for (easy) ways to do it. If there was an easy way to lose weight I don't think 35% of Americans would be obese. There was a time when I also wanted to lose weight and was tired of starting diets only to lose motivation and give up just a few weeks later after seeing no results. However, let me tell you it is literally one of the easiest things you will ever learn once you find a good and reputable place to learn it from and I say that only because the world is filled with magic diet pills, liquid flush diets and a thousand other quick fixes that promise xx pounds of weight loss in the first week and even though it is impossible they know you're going to do it because your desperate. I have probably tried every diet pill, liquid flush diet, and ab rocket machine known to man and have had no success with any of them nor do I know anyone that has ever had any success with them. I have also tried starving myself which works very well for the first few weeks' right before your metabolism comes to a complete stop and eating just the tiny bit makes you gain weight and you end up weighing more than you did before you started starving yourself. Companies promote weight loss to make money not to get people healthy again and that's because they know you're not going to be a customer and buy their products if you're no longer fat.http://fatlossfaactoor.com is a site I want you to go to when you have 10 or 20 minutes to spare and I want you to sit down and watch his video on weight loss. He helps people every day to lose weight I have never seen someone as committed as him and that will go so far out of his way to help someone. His weight loss program is one of the best I have ever had the enjoyment of doing and it is without doubt the best success I have ever had with any weight loss program. I also couldn't be happier with my body right now and I have never felt this wonderful in my whole life. In the end you just got to remember to stick with it and stay confident in yourself and in no time you can achieve the results you have always wanted. It's not hard to lose weight but most people have a hard time staying motivated and 9 times out of 10 it was because they weren't really committed from the beginning. Anyways I hope I helped you and I hope you make the commitment to change your body and life. Remember it's not easy to take the first step but you did, you're here right now taking it and the rest of the steps will fall into place. Have a wonderful day.

  • its so simple its mind boggling . eat small amounts, think of the food in your mouth not on plate, you start changing what you eat to things you body needs.remember you can eat again in 3 hours if you want ,always eat if you get hungry, never eat when your not ! by ALWAYS eating small amounts you stomach will shrink, works the same as having a band fitted or you stomach stapled but your in control!
  • You should not go over 110 lbs. Here's a good low-carb food/exercise plan:Breakfast: Cook 9-grain cereal (from health food store) in water with rolled oats and wheat bran. Make a pot of it on weekends and nuke 1/2 cup each morning. Then stir in low fat milk or yogurt, banana, walnuts and berries. Drink hot Ovaltine. Breakfast should be your largest meal of the day to raise blood sugar level which falls during the night.Lunch: Egg, tuna or turkey ½ sandwich on multi-grain (not just whole wheat) bread with bean or alfalfa sprouts, yogurt, fresh fruit. If you had meat loaf for dinner, bring a meat loaf sandwich on whole grain bread (NO mayo). On cold days, a squatty thermos of hot chili, split peas with ham, or beef stew.Snacks: Fresh (not canned) fruit. Nothing ever from a vending machine. Fruit smoothies. Dinner: salad with white meat chicken and fresh (not canned) veggies: tomatoes, 2 kinds of lettuce, 2 kinds of shredded cabbage, shredded or sliced carrots, alfalfa or bean sprouts, zucchini, green or red peppers, hard boiled eggs, brussels sprouts, broccoli, cauliflower, tofu, cottage cheese, spinach...Instead of dressing, squeeze 1/4 tomato over it. Or homemade bean/vegetable soups; great way to recycle leftovers.Or grilled fish with steamed veggies.Or omelet: In blender, whip together eggs, tofu, cottage cheese, onions, garlic powder. Cook with mushrooms, chopped tomatoes and green or red peppers. Avoid junk food, fast foods, gluten, pastries, desserts, syrup (even canned fruit in syrup), peanut butter, fat/grease (pork, wieners, chops, bacon, salami, pizza, chips, fries), pasta, potatoes, ramen, popcorn, white bread, rice, canned veggies, ice cream (it's lard + chemicals), chips, tobacco, alcohol (kills brain cells).coffee (carcinogenic). no oil except olive and mac nut. Sodas (loaded with toxins; leads to stroke, obesity, kidney damage, high BP and inhibits bone growth in kids), anything with sugar (cancer cells feed on sugar, it wreaks havoc on your liver, mucks up metabolism, impairs brain function, makes you more susceptible to heart disease and diabetes), To keep your skin clear, drink water, tea, veggie juice, unsweetened fruit juice.Join a gym; they have all the equipment and staff to show you how to use it to get the look you want to achieve, but you have to ask them. Much cheaper than buying your own equipment. Go hiking, biking, jogging, bowling, swimming, rowing, jump rope, play tennis, badminton, volleyball, soccer, jumping jacks, lift weights, trampoline? To tone your tummy, do sit ups, push ups, pull ups, leg lifts, butt raises and crunches. For more energy, take Super B complex. Try appetite suppressants.

jogging is an excellent exercise because it let you lose weightevenly throughout your whole body. If you want to lose weight inspecific areas, you should target them with exercises. If they areyour problem areas, they will be very difficult to tone. You will haveto work double on them. The best approach is this:1. Lower/control your daily calorie intake (control for normalweight, lower for overweight).2. Run/jog to lower your overall body fat percentage.3. Target your problem areas with exercises.an excellent exercise, you can do it in front of your TV: sit on astool, and put your toes under something (piece of heavy furniture, for example). In your hands hold a little dumbbell. Please, make surethat it is not very heavy, start with one kilo, for example, or youwill damage your back and spine! Slowly move the upper part of yourbody back, until it's parallel with the ground. Stop for a second andmove it back to the sitting position. Repeat ten times. Every week addto the number of repetitions. You will see the results in a week, guaranteed! Your stomach would be flatter and stronger. Dumbbells do wonders. Much better than thesecrunches - I came up to three hundreds and there was no results ATALL. With the dumbbells you will see it in a week. These exercises show basic moves targeting the muscles of the backincluding the latissimus dorsi (the large muscles on either side ofthe back), the upper back muscles (rhomboids and trapezius muscles)and the lower back (erector spinae). It's important to work all areasof the back when strength training, so try choosing a variety ofexercises to target the upper, mid and lower back areas.Dumbbell Rows1.Bend over at the waist until the torso is parallel to floor or at45 degree angle, abs in and knees slightly bent. 2.Hold medium-heavy weights straight down without locking the elbows. 3.Bend the elbows and pull the weights up until the elbows are levelwith the torso in a rowing motion. Try to keep the shoulders relaxedand away from the ears. 4.Lower and repeat for 1-3 sets of 10-16 reps.Barbell Rows1.With feet about hip-distance apart and hands a bit wider thanshoulders on the bar, bend forward at the waist until you're at abouta 45-degree angle. Keep the shoulders back, the knees slightly bentand the abs tight and look straight forward. 2.Begin the movement by taking the weight out in front of the knees. 3.Bend the elbows and contract the back to pull the weight in towardsthe bellybutton, following the line of the legs. 4.Bring the elbows just past the torso and squeeze the back. 5.Lower down and repeat for 1-3 sets of 8-16 repsBarbell High Rows1.With feet about hip-distance apart and hands a bit wider thanshoulders on the bar, bend forward at the waist until your torso isparallel to the floor. Keep the shoulders back, the knees slightlybent and the abs tight. 2.Bend the elbows and contract the back to pull the weight up towardsthe chest. 3.Bring the elbows just past the torso and squeeze the back. 4.Lower down and repeat for 1-3 sets of 8-16 repsOne Arm Row1.Place the left foot on a step or platform and rest the left hand orforearm on the upper thigh. 2.Hold a medium-heavy weight in the right hand, tip forward keepingthe back flat and the abs in, and hang the weight down towards thefloor. 3.Bend the elbow and pull it up in a rowing motion until it is levelwith the torso or just above it. 4.At the top of the movement, squeeze the back while keeping the hipssquare and the abs engaged. 5.Lower down and repeat for 1-3 sets of 10-16 reps, then switchsides. Back Extension1.Lie face down on a mat and place the hands on the floor or behindthe head (more advanced). 2.Contract the abs and keep them contracted throughout the exercise. 3.Squeeze the back to lift the chest a few inches off the floor. 4.Lower and repeat for 1-3 sets of 10-16 reps total on each arm. Dumbbell Pullover1.Lie face up on the ball with the head and shoulders supported, weight resting over the chest. 2.Keep the glutes contracted to lift the body into a bridge position, making a straight line from knees to head. 3.Take the weight straight up over the chest, arms slightly bent. Youcan hold a dumbbell on either side or use a medicine ball. 4.Keeping the body tight and stable, slowly lower the weight behindyou, keeping the elbows slightly bent. 5.Only lower the weight as far as your flexibility allows and try notto lower the weight below your head. 6.Contract the back muscles to pull the weight back up over the chestand complete 1-3 sets of 10-16 reps

  • It seems like you have more than problem areas and need to lower your body fat percentage overall. This can be done by exercising and eating at a caloric deficit.
