Which is better making smoothies or juicing?

Ive been interested in making healthy drinks to aid me in my weight loss. I've been hearing all the type about juicing and it sounds like it really helps, but it seems like to get a good quality juicer you will be paying atleast $200. I have a blender right now. Could I get the same benefits with my blender (black and decker), or should I invest in a good juicer? What are the differences? Thank you

  • You might wanna buy a juicer but blender would work too! Juicing is really easy you just have to squeeze the fruit and drink it. Smoothies need milk and other stuff which consumes time but its tasty too. Just donvt try crushing Ice cubes in your blender I tried that when I was a kid it crushed the cubes well but the next time my mom used it, its roters broke in two!!
  • to my understanding smoothies MUST have banana and yogurt in them and then whatever else you wish to add but must all be soft sweet fruits. So Smoothies are almost pure sugar with a little fiber.juicing removes almost all the fiber of the fruits and veggies so are almost pure sugar as well.I would much rather make a milkshake or malted as either of the above! It is tastier and likely healthier.How about just eating the fresh fruits and veggies with a nice dip? Less trouble and expense of buying blender and/or juicer!!
  • They're both really good and are great ways to get important nutrients for your body. Which one is better for you will depend exactly on how you're going to use the juicer. The main difference is that juicing separates the fibre from the juice so you get a pure liquid juice. Your body absorbs the nutrients really well, but it can almost be too much too fast. If you juice a lot of fruits, they are high in sugar (mangoes, oranges, apples, etc.) When you drink that much sugar in the absence of the fibres, it can actually work against you if you're trying to lose weight. But if you are going to juice more vegetables, then I think juicing is better. You get a lot of important vitamins and don't have to worry as much about the high sugar content. It also tastes really good. WIth respect to blenders, they're good because they don't separate the fibre. You drink it with the vitamins/carbs, etc. So you will feel more full and your body will digest it somewhat slower. It will feel more like a meal so you're less likely to get hungry. But I personally think a smoothie doesn't taste as good as juicing - fresh juices are pretty tough to beat in terms of taste. With respect to price, you're right that you won't get anything decent for under $200. If you've got a good blender, I'd stick with that for now. Good luck with your choice!

How to intermittent fasting?

I'm at a stand still with my results in the gym. I want to try this out I'm looking at going for the 18 hour fast 6 hour feeding. Im use to eating every 3 hours and 25 min cardio in the morning then gym at night and 25 min cardio again after. I work out atleast 5-6 times a week. In doing a program in bodybuilding.com and this is my second time around and I'm just not seeing the same results. Can I keep up with the cardio and gym time if I do I.f

When your not eating there's more chance your burning fat, so do your fasted cardio then to torch through the fat.Generally if your plateauing two thing is highly recommend you do is to manage your stress and sleep. You need to get 8 hours of unbroken sleep and reduce the gym time and let your diet and intermittent fasting do the work.There is way too much stress with your schedule.
